County Cub ‘Scatterbrain’ Competition – 16th October 2010

Ten Monday Cubs took part in the first of what will hopefully be an annual event for Cubs, the County Cub ‘Scatterbrain’ Competition.  This event was held at Woodhouse Park, the weather was kind to us and the sun even shone for most of the event.

The competition was in teams of four – one 9 year old, one 8 year old and 2 from any age. They then had to orienteer around Woodhouse Park and find bases where they had to take part in a challenge, puzzle, game, quiz or knowledge test.  At each base they also had to find an orienteering post, where they were given points for finding the base, and how well they did completing the activity.

Although our three teams didn't win they all came within the top 10 of the 44 teams that took part.

As normal the Cubs were a credit to the group as they were all well behaved, and took part in the event with the spirit of Scouting.  We all had a great time adults and Cubs and the event closed with a Camp Fire.

A massive Thank You to Rikki (Sharon Cross), Raksha (Nathalie Moore), Steve Davidge, Gail Restall and Kevin Rawlins for giving up your time to attend the event with us and for running the base.
